Part of One For All's Premium Learning Line, the URC-8811 remote control is an upgradeable universal remote capable of operating up to eight devices at one time: TV, VCR, DVD, cable, satellite, CD, auxiliary, and surround receiver or amplifier. Full-learning capability allows this remote to learn codes from your existing remote controls, and a Home Theater Configure key powers all devices on or off simultaneously.

The URC-8811's four macro keys can be programmed to perform repetitive, time-consuming operations for easy, convenient access at the press of a single key. Macro keys are ideal for home theater operations, setting a favorite channel, guide steps, or other multiple functions you'd like to control with a single key press. Moreover, each macro key can hold up to 15 key presses. You can set macros to find your favorite channels, power up or down your system in the appropriate sequence, or other procedures tailored to your use.

The URC-8811 features intuitive, easy-to use buttons and control groups. The device requires four AAA batteries (not included) and some simple programming. The remote is preprogrammed at the factory to operate an RCA TV and VCR, a Motorola (GI) cable box, an RCA satellite receiver, a Pioneer CD player, a Toshiba DVD player, a Pioneer audio receiver/ amplifier, and a One For All home automation device. To control devices other than the default brands, simply find the manufacturers in the provided code library and load them manually.

The remote has the largest infrared code library available. However, if you purchase a brand-new home-entertainment or home-automation device, it may not respond to the codes stored in the remote's memory. If this happens, you can rest easy knowing that all you have to do is contact customer-service department to upgrade the remote control--a representative will search the company's database for a code that matches your device and instruct you on how to enter it into your URC-8811.

Exclusions to the unit's upgradeability include home entertainment or home automation devices controlled by radio-frequency (RF/UHF), wired, or ultrasonic remote controls--only devices controlled by infrared remote controls are covered; home-entertainment or home automation devices not controlled by remote controls; broken or defective products; products that operate at frequencies above 100 kHz; infrared keyboards and infrared pointing devices (such as mouse substitutes); all products for sale and/or use outside the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, or Canada.
